Dionne Warwick is requesting that Jake Gyllenhaal return Taylor Swift’s scarf.
Dionne Warwick has a message for Jake Gyllenhaal, and it’s for him to return Taylor Swift’s scarf right away.
Following the November release of Red (Taylor’s Version),
Everyone has been talking about Taylor’s new 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” which has long been rumored to be about the musician’s relationship with Jake, and now Dionne has officially entered the conversation, and it’s clear who she’s on—at least when it comes to Taylor’s famously MIA winter scarf.
On Nov. 8, the Grammy winner, 80, tweeted, “If that young man has Taylor’s scarf.”
“He should return it,” Dionne added, adding, “It does not belong to you.”
Jake, put it in a box and I’ll pay for the postage.”
Fans were quick to respond after the singer of “Walk On By” tweeted her thoughts on Taylor’s song, with one user writing, “Return it, young man.”
“THE PRESIDENT OF TWITTER HAS SPOKEN Return the scarf, JAKE,” one user wrote, while another said, “THE QUEEN SAID YOU HAVE TO.”
“And I left my scarf there at your sister’s house, and you’ve still got it in your drawer, even now,” the song’s original lyrics read.
The extended version of “All Too Well” appears to shed a little more light on Jake and Taylor’s brief romance and subsequent breakup.
“They say everything works out in the end,” Taylor sings on the track, “but I’m in a new hell every time you double-cross my mind.”
“You said it would have been fine if we were closer in age, and that made me want to die.” The two dated briefly in 2010, when she was around 20 and he was 29.
Although neither Taylor nor Jake have ever confirmed that he is the true subject of the song, Jake’s sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, has previously admitted that people have asked her about “this scarf.”
We’ll be waiting to see if Taylor gets any surprises in the mail!
