“Today, Jay-Z is one of the most well-known artists in history, as well as a personification of the American dream.”

Jay-Z was introduced by comedian Dave Chappelle, who told the crowd that even though he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the rapper will always be a part of the hip-hop community.

Chappelle said, “It is an incredible honor to induct this next man into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

“However, I need everyone in rock ‘n’ roll to understand that he is ours, even if you are honoring him.”

He’s a rap artist.
