During an Instagram Live fight, DaBaby received backlash for calling the cops on his baby’s mother.

Rapper DaBaby is facing backlash on social media after calling the cops on his ex-girlfriend this weekend.

On Sunday night, the 29-year-old, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was arguing with his child’s mother, 26-year-old singer DaniLeigh, while streaming on Instagram Live.

Kirk apparently called the cops while attempting to persuade her to leave his property.

On Sunday night, during a heated discussion about their relationship and co-parenting, Kirk and DaniLeigh both streamed on Instagram Live.

According to a report by Hot 97, police arrived at the property and approached her on one of her broadcasts, and they eventually asked her to leave.

Kirk and DaniLeigh married in August and have had an on-again, off-again relationship.

Some fans felt it was hypocritical for Kirk to call the cops on DaniLeigh because she isn’t white, and that as a supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, he should have seen this as a threat to her safety.

Others believe that, despite her Dominican ancestry, DaniLeigh’s appearance grants her white privilege, and have referred to her as “white” in some tweets.

On Monday, Kirk issued a public statement defending his actions.

“Based on my reputation, with multiple threats of setting up an internet scheme, and a person refusing to let me go,” it read in part.

Someone else in the room and I were both aware that we needed to record her.

I’m not one of those fatal love attraction type girls who gets beaten up and yelled at and chased around.”

On Monday, fans did not appear to have much sympathy for DaBaby or DaniLeigh, but they did have a lot to say about them.

Here’s how things are going so far in the discussion.

Abusers frequently record their victims to make them appear “unstable” or “crazy.”

They’ll enrage the other person by berating them or by recording their reaction to something horrible and posting it online.

This shouldn’t have been shared on social media in the first place.

You chose to live with this man, DaniLeigh.

Make a song called “Yellowbone is what he want” to one-up his dark-skinned baby mama.
