EMMERDALE fans spotted a major continuity blunder last night as Jamie Tate returned from lockdown ‘thinner and more tanned’.
Last night’s episode was a combination of old and new footage after the cast returned to filming earlier this month under strict new guidelines.
The Emmerdale hunk, played by Alexander Lincoln, has been in the middle of a love triangle between his wife Andrea and lover Belle Dingle.
While some of the scenes showing Andrea Tate fleeing to a hotel appeared to have been filmed back in March, others seemed to be more recent.
In one particular shot, Jamie begged a police officer for answers about his wife’s disappearance while standing two metres apart – indicating it was filmed more recently.
Eagle-eyed Emmerdale viewers immediately noticed the soap star was rocking a healthy new tan and looked like he might have lost a little weight.
Taking to Twitter, fans laughed as they pointed out Jamie’s apparent new look.
One wrote: “#emmerdale Not watched for a while, has that Jamie lost a lot of weight??”
“Looks like the stress has made Jamie lose weight. #emmerdale,” added a second.
Another gushed: “Jamie has a lovely tan.”
While a fourth penned: “Jamie’s got a nice lockdown tan! #Emmerdale”
Actor Alexander Lincoln shocked fans during lockdown when he unveiled his newly shaved head.
The soap hunk, 25, who is in lockdown like the rest of the UK, revealed he had got rid of his brown locks in favour of a shorter hair do.
Emmerdale fans are used to seeing him with a slightly longer hair do.
Showing off his new look on Instagram has been going through similar emotions as the rest of the nation – including not knowing when he had last washed.
Showing off his new hair style, he wrote on the picture: “When did I last shower. A poem.”
Last week Emmerdale star Lisa Riley gave fans a rare look behind the scenes on the soap – showing the homes all lined up in a vast studio.
The Mandy Dingle star, 43, also revealed some of the new measures in place on the set in Leeds, including a lady who enforces social distancing with a giant stick.
She explained how the temperatures of the actors and crew are being taken on the way into the ITV base – and the whole building converted into a one-way system.
Lisa said: “We are now in charge of our own hair and make-up and of course our wardrobe is laid out for us in our room, fully sanitised, in the order we’re going to shoot that day.
“Because of the one-way system and the circle if, while we are shooting, Mandy’s eyelash starts to lift, and I need some Mandy Dingle eyelash glue, there’s only one person who can get it – thats me!
“Full circle round the building!”
