Halle Berry’s Thoughts on Remaking ‘Catwoman’ Are Surprising

Halle Berry’s Remake of ‘Catwoman’ Has Surprising Thoughts

Halle Berry dazzled in her skin-tight leather and latex pants, midriff top, mask, and whip from the 2004 action film Catwoman.

Berry plays Patience Phillips, a designer who uncovers a conspiracy within the cosmetics company where she works, in the film.

She learns about a hazardous product that could harm her health.

She is resurrected by Egyptian cats who grant her superhuman cat-like abilities after the perpetrators murder her.

Until Wonder Woman in 2017, it was the highest-grossing female-led superhero film.

Berry now wants a second chance at the movie, but with a different plot.

In a recent interview with Jake’s Takes, she revealed, “I would love to direct Catwoman.”

“If I can get a hold of that now, knowing what I know and having this experience, and reimagine that world the way I reimagined this story, that would be fantastic.”

Bruise was written for a 25-year-old white Irish catholic girl.

I was given the opportunity to reimagine it.

I wish I could go back in time and reimagine Catwoman.”

“I’d have Catwoman saving the world like most male superheroes do, not just saving women’s faces from cracking,” she continued.

I’d up the stakes significantly.

Make it more inclusive of both men and women, in my opinion.”

Berry has previously discussed the possibility of a remake.

Berry once told Variety that “the story didn’t feel quite right.”

“I remember having that argument with myself: ‘Why can’t Catwoman save the world like Batman and Superman do? Why is she only saving women from a face cream that cracks their faces off?’ But I was just the hired actor.

I wasn’t in charge of the project.

That was something I didn’t have much of a say in.”

Catwoman is regarded as a critical and commercial failure.

On a budget of (dollar)100 million, it lost money, grossing just over (dollar)80 million.

Worst Picture, Worst Actress, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay were among the film’s seven Golden Raspberry Award nominations, with the film winning in the categories of Worst Picture, Worst Actress, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay.
