Hawkeye: New footage shows Clint throwing Kate under the bus during a hilarious meeting with her mother.
Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) visit Kate’s family in a new clip from the upcoming Hawkeye series, and it’s as awkward as you’d expect when a young woman brings a middle-aged celebrity home.
In this case, there’s also the fact that the two are clearly concealing something from Kate’s mother, and Clint goes out of his way to dismiss everything Kate says in order to throw momma off the scent.
He also wants it to be clear that they are not partners.
Or, in this case, friends.
Hawkeye is thrilling fans of the old MarvelNetflix shows by promising a return of “street-level” heroics to the MCU. It also appears that a lot of the comedy will come (as it did in the FractionAja run) from Clint and Kate’s personality clashes.
“I’m excited for people to see how we’re interpreting this character in the comics and in her own unique way.”
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Steinfeld said of Kate Bishop, “She’s such a badass, there’s no denying that.”
“She’s incredibly intelligent, witty, and quick, and her physical ability to do a wide range of tasks is incredible.”
It’s put me to the test and, I’ll admit, it’s given me a reason to stick with it during quarantine.
But I’m looking forward to seeing how we come up with everything as I continue to develop her.”
