WWE’s John Cena Punched the Lizard in the No Way Home Trailer, According to Spider-Man Fan Art

The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home sparked a lot of discussion, including all of the returning Spider-Man villains from the previous films, such as Sandman, Electro, Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and The Lizard.

There was one scene in particular that sparked outrage on the internet, with Sandman, Electro, and The Lizard charging towards Spider-Man, though a few details stood out.

The most disturbing aspect was a quick shot of Lizard charging and being kicked or punched in the face by an unseen enemy in one of the trailers.

However, the culprit is revealed in artist Samuel Cheve’s new artwork, and it is none other than WWE’s John Cena.

The artwork depicts Andrew Garfield in his Amazing Spider-Man suit, but underneath the mask is John Cena.

It’s a fantastic depiction of Cena in the Spider-Man suit, but it gets even better when you read the text behind him: “Yes, I punched the Lizard.”

This is, of course, a reference to Cena’s trademark “You can’t see me” line, which has inspired a slew of “you can’t see me” jokes.

That said, it’s easily one of the best in the genre, as evidenced by the fact that it’s linked to in the previous paragraph.

In terms of the trailer, the unnoticed punch isn’t the only sign that someone is missing.

All three villains are currently facing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, but only Sandman is looking straight ahead.

At the top of the screen, Electro appears to be engaged with someone else, while at the bottom of the screen, Lizard is clearly fighting with someone else.

So, it appears that there are three people in this scene, two of whom are hidden from view, and if the previous photos of all three Spider-Men standing next to each other are accurate, Garfield and Toby McGuire’s Spider-Men are the ones assisting Holland’s Spidey in battle.

Some have also noted that a previously leaked photo depicts a similar setting with similar background elements, so we’ll have to wait and see if this is the case.

For now, we’ll go with Cena because that would be incredible.
