ITV confirm Catchphrase with Stephen Mulhern will resume filming next week with strict social distancing rules

CATCHPHRASE will resume filming next week as host Stephen Mulhern and guests will adhere to strict social distancing rules.

The hit ITV series is set to be the first entertainment show to begin filming following the coronavirus hiatus.

In order to stick to government guidelines, the game show will start filming next Monday without an audience and the studio will be cleaned every day to limit any infections.

STV Productions will record ten episodes of the programme, which will be aired on ITV throughout autumn.

Presenter Stephen Mulhern said: “We were always due to start filming now so it’s great that we are in a position that we can do so.

“It feels so good to be back in the studio and it’s taken a huge amount of work from the crew and all at STV Productions who make the show and ITV who broadcast it to get us back up and running safely.

“We can’t wait to start.”

New ways of working to protect the crew and cast have been introduced by ITV Studios, with its health and safety team and medical advisers working in consultation with the Government.

The guidelines underpin everything ITV Studios are putting in place for the cast, crew and production team to adhere to whilst filming.

TV dramas such as Emmerdale will include social distancing, filming units staying together to work in designated studios and crews using their own sanitised equipment.

Crews will also have to attend a meeting with the company’s medical adviser and participate in a health and safety induction.
