Dolly Parton says she’s unable to slow down because she’s ‘dreamed herself into a corner.’
Highlights from the article
Dolly Parton is 75 years old and will turn 76 in January.
The year 2022 has arrived.
She, on the other hand, has no intention of retiring or even slowing down.
The “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” singer admitted in a recent interview that she couldn’t slow down even if she wanted to.
Dolly Parton is a celebrity who is constantly in the spotlight.
Because she keeps herself busy, she is always in the news.
Everything is rhinestoned for the Queen of Country.
She discussed why she “would never retire” in a recent interview with 10News.
She explained, “I can’t slow down.”
“That’s why I’ll never retire because I always say, ‘I’ve dreamed myself into a corner,’ and all of my dreams have come true.”
All of those things are now my responsibility.
As a result, it necessitates a significant amount of effort.”
The singer of “Down From Dover” continued, “I still love working.”
“Seeing all the new things that come from the dreams that had come true” is rewarding for her.
Parton stated in a 2018 interview with People that she “never once considered retiring.”
“There’s a lot to be said for enjoying your work and believing in yourself,” she explained.
However, if her husband, Carl Dean, needed her, the “Joshua” singer would put her career on hold.
“I’m going to put him first,” she said.

Despite their tumultuous relationship, Porter Wagoner released new duets with Dolly Parton after she left “The Porter Wagoner Show.”
“I’ve always put myself and my career first,” she said, “but if something happened to him, I would back off.”
If Parton ever has to give up her career to care for Dean or another member of her family, she says she’ll “still find a way to work, still find a way to be productive.”
