Joe Biden’s Negro League gaffe has sparked heated debate.

President Joe Biden is facing backlash after making a gaffe during his Veterans Day speech.

The full quote reveals what Biden was trying to say during his speech. A video appears to show Biden saying that Black baseball player Satchel Paige is “the great negro of our time.”

“And I just want to tell you, I know you’re a little younger than I am, but I’ve taken on the attitude of the great Negro — at the time, a pitcher in the Negro Leagues — who went on to become a great pitcher in the pros — in Major League Baseball after Jackie Robinson,” Biden said, according to Forbes.

“His name was Satchel Paige,” says the narrator.

What Biden said did not bother Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro League Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Newsweek.

“From our perspective, it’s an honor that the president has such a fondness for Satchel,” Kendrick said.

“We take no offense at all to what the president said.

In fact, we congratulate the president on his continued support for this period of history.”

“To relate the stories of the Negro Leagues means a lot to us,” Kendrick continued.

I understood exactly what he was talking about.

As a result, we don’t take offense at all.

He was making a statement when he told this story about a legendary Black baseball hero who played in the Negro Leagues.

The leagues were referred to as such.

Our museum is called that.”

Paige began his professional career in the Negro Leagues in 1926.

He would stay in the league until 1948, when he made his major league debut at the age of 42, making him the oldest debutant in major league history….
