Joe Exotic, the subject of the film ‘Tiger King,’ has left the medical center due to an aggressive cancer battle.

Joe Exotic, the subject of the film ‘Tiger King,’ has left the hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Joe Exotic, the Tiger King’s star, has been battling cancer.

He has been transferred from a Texas medical facility to one in North Carolina as part of his prostate cancer treatment.

Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, revealed his diagnosis of “aggressive cancer” in early November.

Exotic was transferred from FMC Forth Worth, Texas to FMC Butner, North Carolina, according to TMZ.

While the Netflix star remains in federal custody, this move was made to ensure that he receives proper care.

Exotic will be able to receive treatment for his prostate cancer at FMC Butner, which reportedly offers “extensive medical services” and also has a full hospital.

It’s unclear what kind of care he’ll get at this facility right now.

Exotic’s cancer diagnosis was announced in early November, as previously stated.

He didn’t specify what type of cancer he had been diagnosed with, but he did say that he had a prostate biopsy recently.

“Everyone, It is with a sad face that I have to tell you that the doctors called me in today to break the news that my prostate biopsy came back with an aggressive cancer, I am still waiting on the results from other test as well,” Exotic wrote on social media.

Despite his cancer, the Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness star said he is focused on getting out of prison.

Exotic was previously sentenced to 22 years in prison after being found guilty of a variety of charges, including plotting a murder-for-hire against Carole Baskin.

“Right now, I don’t want anyone’s sympathy, and I’m sure Carole will throw her own party over this!” the controversial figure continued, “What I need is for the world to be my voice to be released, because they have the proof I DID NOT DO THIS! And there is no reason for the district attorney to drag this out, so I can go home and get treatment on my own or enjoy what life I have left with my loved ones!”

Exotic’s lawyer, John Phillips, confirmed the story on Twitter.

“He [Exotic] and I spoke Monday with both of us in tears at a point,” he wrote, echoing Exotic’s calls for release from prison.

By… he requires freedom.
