Kyle Yorlets, a musician, was killed by a teen girl who pleads guilty.

Last month, just days before one of their trials was scheduled to begin, two teenagers pleaded guilty in the 2019 murder of Nashville musician Kyle Yorlets.

Diamond Lewis, 17, was scheduled to stand trial in October.

For a charge of first-degree premeditated murder, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Rather, she agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder in exchange for a reduced sentence.

Decorrius Wright, who is 18 years old, also entered a guilty plea.

In February of this year, Yorlets was shot in an alley behind his home in West Nashville.

He made it back to his house, where he was discovered by his housemates.

Five juveniles were initially charged with the murder.

According to police, one of the suspects allegedly stole Yorlets’ wallet and demanded the keys to his car. When Yorlets refused, one of the teens shot the musician, according to WKRN.

Three girls, ages 12, 14, and 15, and two boys, ages 13 and 16, were initially charged.

The cases of Wright and Lewis were remanded in adult court.

A judge ruled in September that they would be tried separately, with Lewis’ trial set for October.

WTVF reported on May 25.

However, on October 1st,

The defendants pleaded guilty on December 12.

Lewis faces a mandatory 25-year prison sentence for second-degree murder, which he will have to serve.

She’ll be credited for the two years she’s already spent in the military.

Wright faces a sentence of 26 years in prison and ten years of probation.

During the month of October,

The prosecutor read a statement from Yorlets’ father, who stated that his mother, Deb, died of cancer and that his mother’s health deteriorated after her son died.

A statement Deb wrote before her death was also read by the prosecutor.

“He had a way of making people remember him.

“People came through the line remembering things from kindergarten,” Deb wrote in her letter.

“Even in first grade, his one teacher said if someone didn’t understand something, he would try to help them.”

Lewis agreed to a plea deal on the same day that her 15-year-old brother, Latherious Lewis, was laid to rest.

The week before the hearing, he was shot in the back outside his home.

Rodale Lewis, both Lewis’ and Latherious’ older brother, was charged with Latherious’ murder on Oct.

Rodale was apprehended following a short car chase, according to WKRN.

Rodale had a suspended Tennessee driver’s license, a digital scale, two Xanax pills, cash, and his phone when he was arrested.

Rodale was also wanted in Alabama, where he was wanted on five extradition warrants.
