UNLUCKY-in-love crooner Lewis Capaldi will have plenty of new material for his long-awaited second album – as we can reveal that he’s single again.
The Someone You Loved singer has sadly split up with his student girlfriend Catherine Halliday after seven months of dating.
The couple called time on their romance when they realised they had no future together.
But down-to-earth Lewis, who has spoken regularly about his disastrous love life, has not wasted any time being down in the dumps and is already back on A-list dating app Raya, on the lookout for a new lass to cheer him up.
The Brit award winner met stunning brunette Catherine, whose dad is a millionaire architect, through mutual pals at the beginning of the year. He wooed her on a low-key date at Italian diner Prezzo and they kept in touch during lockdown, which they spent apart with their families in Scotland.
But the relationship didn’t have the legs to go the distance and they have now decided to go their separate ways.
A pal said: “Lewis has no hard feelings towards Catherine and they’re still amicable but they decided it was best to call it a day. He’s at the beginning of his career, with a lot of opportunity at his fingertips, so it’s not the right time to settle down.
“He wishes Catherine all the best and has fond memories of their dates together.”
Lew was in London last Thursday performing a secret gig at private members’ club Shoreditch House — where he made reference on stage to college ex-girlfriend Paige Turley, who won Winter Love Island earlier this year.
An onlooker said: “Lewis was in good spirits, berating the crowd for breaking club rules and using their phones to take pictures.
“He changed the words to a song about Paige leaving him and going on Love Island.
“He seemed delighted to be back singing in public again after lockdown.”
At least Lewis — who sold more than a million copies of his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent — also now has a nice pad for entertaining.
After telling fans he had less than £200 in his bank account in January, he is now enjoying the fruits of his success — after recently spending £1.6million on a sprawling farmhouse half an hour from his parents’ home in Whitburn, West Lothian.
Let the socially distanced dates commence . . .
Former Towie besties Chloe Sims and Pete Wicks have been feuding all series and we can finally reveal why – the pair became secret lovers.
But things soured as they struggled to define their relationship.
A source said: “They crossed the line from friendship to romance and it got messy.
“After a string of failed relationships on the show, the last thing Chloe wanted was another guy letting her down publicly, but Pete was never clear about his intentions. She felt slighted.”
Of course, all the drama will play out on the ITVBe show soon.
IT’S been a bumper few weeks for actress-of-the-moment Zendaya.
Her movie Malcolm & Marie has been bought by Netflix for a cool £23.5million. And The Greatest Showman starlet – showing off her figure here in a crop top, ripped denim hotpants and SPICE GIRLS-style boots – became the youngest star to win the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama award at this week’s Emmys, for her portrayal of drug addict Rue in Euphoria.
In her acceptance speech, Zendaya offered some inspiring words.
She said: “I just want to say that there is hope in the young people out there.”
We reckon the ex-Disney beauty has the world at her platformed feet.
Saturdays singer Una Healy is moving on from cheating ex Ben Foden – with movie star Sam Claflin.
We’re told the Irish beauty matched with Hunger Games actor Sam on a celebrity dating app and they have been exchanging flirty messages.
A source said: “Una and Sam have a lot in common. They’ve been messaging quite a bit and are hoping to meet up for a date when they can align their schedules.”
It comes after we revealed that Sam’s ex, Laura Haddock, is now dating her White Lines TV co-star Tom Rhys Harries.
