Lili Reinhart, star of ‘Riverdale,’ understands how ‘confusing’ Rivervale can be.

Viewers were introduced to an eerie alternate reality in the Riverdale Season 6 premiere.

The show will eventually return to its regular storyline, according to Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on the show.

And she admits it’s all a little perplexing.

Jughead (Cole Sprouse) introduces the town of RiverVale and its residents in the first episode of Riverdale Season 6 in a Twilight Zone-style manner.

On the surface, everything appears to be fine, but as the episode progresses, it becomes clear that this is not the Riverdale that fans are familiar with.

Parts of the season 5 arc are mentioned in passing in the episode.

Archie (KJ Apa) wakes up next to Betty one morning and tells her about a dream he had about a town called Riverdale and a bomb under his bed.

Betty thinks the name “Riverdale” is ridiculous, and she dismisses his dream as a figment of his imagination.

In the final scene, the town gathers in cult-style to watch Cheryl Blossom (Madeline Petsch) cut out Archie’s heart and kill him.

The Riverdale Season 6 premiere confusion left fans wondering how the “Rivervale” arc would affect the show’s ongoing storyline, and Reinhart acknowledged the confusion in a recent Twitter post.

Season 6 begins with a special five-episode event set in a different ‘universe’— RiverVale— before the rest of the season airs in January.

But these five episodes are an adventure; you’ll see our characters in ways you’ve never seen them before (hashtag)riverdale.

The Troubled Town in ‘Riverdale’ Season 6 is renamed ‘RiverVale.’

“Season 6 kicks off with a special five-episode event set in a different ‘universe,'” Reinhart explained.

“The rest of the season is set to premiere in January.”

It’s understandably perplexing.

But these five episodes are a journey; you’ll see our characters in ways you’ve never seen them before.”

Fans were a little more perplexed by Reinhart’s tweet.

Riverdale is set to return in March 2022, not January, according to The CW.

Fans can expect new episodes to arrive in early spring unless the network announces otherwise.
