Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton will go down in history, and millions of people tuned in to watch the couple become the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Queen, Prince Philip, Prince William, and the rest of the royal family looked on proudly as Charles and Diana’s eldest son married his university sweetheart.
The Monarch beamed as Kate walked up the aisle and seemed happy and relaxed throughout the ceremony.
After it was finished and the couple were officially husband and wife, she turned to her husband to share her thoughts.
A lip reader has shared their sweet exchange, and it’s very telling of the special day.
According to an expert, the Queen said: “It was excellent”, reports CBS News.
Phil them replied: “Yes?”
But when they were standing outside the Abbey, the Queen told him one of the things she wasn’t overly keen about.
She said: “I wanted them to take the smaller carriage.”
However Camilla jumped in with a more positive thought, adding: “It all went very well.”
The Queen replied: “Very well.”
The lip reader also looked at footage of Kate and William as they took their carriage ride around London, waving to well-wishers who had waited hours to catch a glimpse of them.
Wills said: “I hope I remember … It’s mad, it’s mad! Oh my goodness it … really loudly here (unclear) these people are clapping.”
Kate then asks: “Did they?”
Later, Wills turns to his wife and says: “You look happy.”
Kate and William tied the knot on April 29,2011.
Brits were given an extra day off to mark the unforgettable occasion, and those who didn’t travel to London held street parties and gathered around the TV to watch the historical moment.
After the official ceremony the couple were joined by their family and friends for a meal at Buckingham Palace followed by an evening reception – and it sounds like it was a night to remember.
According to insiders, a highlight from the night was when the couple took to the dance floor to sing and dance to Grease’s You’re the One That I Want.
They strutted and sang their way through the John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John classic to the delight of guests who were clapping and cheering at the beaming newlyweds.
One bleary-eyed guest – who left the party at 3.15am – said: “The Grease number brought the house down.
“They stood holding hands in the middle of the dancefloor grinning, then suddenly the opening bars of the song came booming out.
“The reaction was just brilliant. Everyone started clapping to the music.
“Wills and Kate began dancing around, pointing at each other and mouthing the words. It was hilarious.
“When the song finished, they ended up in each other’s arms with massive smiles on their faces.
“Everyone was cheering wildly, whooping and they did a bow to each other.
“After that, the dancefloor filled up and the party got going properly. It was a fabulous night. The kind of night you never forget.”
