Archie and Lilibet were ‘not into’ their Halloween costumes, according to Meghan Markle.
Meghan Markle couldn’t stop gushing about her children and their adorable Halloween costumes during a rare public interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The Suits alum, 40, told Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday, November 18, that “we were home and we saw you guys, which was great.”
“We wanted to do something fun for the kids, but they were completely uninterested.”
For maybe five minutes, Archie was a dinosaur.”
While the 63-year-old author of Seriously, I’m Kidding noted that this could have been the royal family of four’s first “chance” to dress up, the Bench author, Prince Harry, and their children chose a more low-key celebration instead.
“Finally, Harry persuaded [Archie] to put the [dinosaur]head on, but Lili was a skunk,” DeGeneres recalled, adding that the 2-year-old and the 5-month-old looked “cute” in their outfits.
“She had the appearance of a small skunk.”
“It’s like Flower from Bambi,” the Californian continued.
While the former Tig blogger, her 37-year-old husband, and their children chose an intimate Halloween celebration this year, she later recalled one of the couple’s first spooky gatherings together.
“He came to see me in Toronto [where the AMC series was shot], and our friends and his cousin [Princess] Eugenie, and now her husband Jack [Brooksbank], they all came,” the Dater’s Handbook actress recalled to the talk show host.
“The four of us snuck out in our Halloween costumes for one last night on the town before the world found out we were dating.”
“It was a post–apocalyptic theme, so we had all this very bizarre costuming on, and we were able to just have one last fun night out,” she continued through laughter.
Following a whirlwind royal romance, the Northwestern University graduate and military veteran married in May 2018.
They welcomed son Archie a year later before stepping down as senior royals and relocating to Montecito, California, where they had daughter Lilibet “Lili” two years later.
