No arrests have been made in the case of a rapper who was shot in a drive-by shooting.

After being shot and injured in a drive-by shooting in November, a Florida rapper is making a full recovery.

Foolio, whose real name is Charles Jones, was grazed by a bullet during a shootout in Jacksonville early Monday morning.

He is expected to recover completely.

According to a report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and First Coast News, the shooting happened just after midnight outside a Riverside home where music was being recorded.

Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with Foolio, who said he was shot at by “unknown suspects in a dark color truck or SUV.” Foolio said he grabbed two guns and returned fire.

“We ran to check on our kids and ran to look out the window and saw a car with its windshield shot out and several people running back and forth from the house next door to the car,” one neighbor told News4Jax.

Officers responding to the call discovered four guns, a white t-shirt, 20 spent shell casings, and a possible AR-15 magazine on the street, all belonging to Foolio, who also goes by Julio Foolio.

During the shooting, the rapper was reportedly grazed in the ankle, but he did not seek medical attention.

According to a neighbor, the musician was “escorted to the car because it appeared as if his leg or foot had been injured.”

Foolio, whose 16-year-old brother Adrian Dennard Gainer Jr., aka Bibby, was shot to death in 2019, took to Instagram just hours after the shooting to address the incident.

The rapper confirmed he “got grazed in the leg” in a live video, revealing minor wounds around his ankle.

He went on to say that he “retaliated in self-defense.”

My firearm has been registered.

If I did something wrong, the cops would arrest me.

In July 2020, Foolio went live on Instagram in the aftermath of a shooting in Texas that was referenced in a rival gang’s viral music video “Who I Smoke.”

Before the November election, neighbors told News4Jax that

They had made numerous complaints about suspicious activity at the home where the shooting occurred prior to the August 8 shooting, but “they said those complaints had been ignored.”
