ONE Direction fans were upset and angry after Zayn Malik failed to post a single tribute to the band on its ten-year anniversary.
All the other members of the group posted tweets, photos and comments about the momentous milestone but ex-member Zayn stayed quiet.
While One Direction fans managed to break the internet with their constant tweets about the band, many couldn’t hide their frustration that Zayn hadn’t posted anything.
One tweeted: “Umm Hello wake uppppp it’s the 10th anniversary #onedirection10years”
“I’m still clinging on this hope that @zaynmalik will say something… JUST HOPING OKAYY,” added another.
A third wrote honestly, “I’m very sad and disappointed @zaynmalik never said anything for there 10 year anniversary #onedirection10years”
After becoming the biggest boyband on the planet, Zayn quit the group in 2015.
And in 2016 – with just four band members left after Zayn quit – One Direction revealed they would be going on a hiatus and the boys would be creating solo material.
They’ve all released their own music and been gigging around the world after leaving behind their former band members.
With over 31M subscribers, One Direction are in the world’s top 15 most-subscribed artists.
Despite being on hiatus since January 2016 they still amass an average of 3.4M views a day.
To mark the special occasion yesterday, The band released a five minute-long montage showing the group grow from a fresh-faced boyband to accomplished, chart-blazing, stadium-filling musicians.
Shared on their YouTube channel, fans can remember 10 years of their favourite band with the video montage of backstage moments and never seen before footage.
In addition to the greatest moments video, One Direction are also treating fans to newly updated HD videos and a livestream of their San Siro concert (from 28th July).
Dedicated to their loyal fans, the tribute film charts the band’s many successes and milestones over the years – with the boys revealing how grateful they are to the fans.
In scenes that are bound to make even the hardest of fans shed a tear or two, Niall, Harry, Liam, Zayn and Louis are seen laughing and joking during the boys’ glory years.
It’s been a decade since Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, 28, and Zayn Malik, 27, were formed on The X Factor.
And although they didn’t win – they came third behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle – the band is undoubtedly the most successful act ever to come out of the show.
On July 22, 2020, the world famous boy band excited fans by tweeting for the first time in two years.
In the tweet they promised a “big announcement” Thursday (July 23, 2020) to mark their ten-year anniversary.
Many fans are still hoping the band will reveal they are set to release new music.
