Season 2 of Netflix’s hit new animated series has been renewed.
Netflix is already doubling down on Riot Games’ League of Legends animated series, which satisfied people streaming at home after a successful first season and a cliffhanger ending.
Arcane will return to the streaming platform for a second season, with the news being revealed during the Undercity Nights events.
Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn Kiramman will be played by Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, and Katie Leung, respectively.
With Hawkeye premiering later this month on Disney(plus) and Dickinson wrapping up at Apple TV, Steinfeld has had a busy period across the streaming world.
Arcane was released earlier this month and adapts a story from Riot Games’ League of Legends, a MOBA strategy PC game that spins an original world from the heart of the famous Warcraft III map Defense of the Ancients (DOTA).
According to Wikipedia, League of Legends is an original standalone game that allows PVP battles to take place online and has grown to become the world’s largest esports game, with millions tuning in to watch the 2019 championship on YouTube and Twitch, as well as on ESPN.
Purnell and Steinfeld star in the Netflix series, which tells the story of the game’s popular sisters Jinx and Vi.
Darkness is spreading across the land, which makes for a great setting for an animated adventure.
“We’re overjoyed by the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are hard at work with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” said co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee of the Netflix renewal.

The series is the streaming platform’s latest animated hit, and it demonstrates the company’s commitment to producing original animated content rather than relying on third parties.
While they aren’t closing that door, they have increased their output, with shows like Inside Job and Dogs in Space recently airing, as well as a Magic the Gathering series and a Sonic the Hedgehog adaptation in 2022, as well as a Bone adaptation and a new series from Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch.
Animated content is viable for the streaming platform, thanks to Arcane’s success and previous wins such as Castlevania, Bojack Horseman, and Big Mouth.
Let’s hope for a fantastic second season and beyond.
