Simu Liu, a Marvel actor, reveals his snubbed Saturday Night Live impressions.
Simu Liu, a Marvel actor, shared some impressions he wanted to use on Saturday Night Live while hosting to promote his upcoming work with Sesame Street during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
The impressions weren’t quite ready for SNL, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t air on NBC’s famous late-night block, as it turned out.
To begin the conversation, he did an impression of Emperor Palpatine, which was amusing to hear use the words “Saturday Night Live.”
Then there was Gollum, who made us think Liu should be the next voice of Donald Duck.
Why not? After all, he has a Disney connection thanks to his Marvel work, right?
The video is embedded below.
Liu is on the road to promote a new special he’s doing with Sesame Workshop, in which he introduces a Korean-American puppet who will join the venerable children’s series.
See Us Coming Together is a family-friendly film that follows the Sesame Street characters as they celebrate “Neighbor Day” with new friend Ji-Young, a seven-year-old Korean American character played by Sesame Workshop puppeteer Kathleen Kim.
Actors Simu Liu and Anna Cathcart, comic book artist Jim Lee, chef Melissa King, television personality Padma Lakshmi, and athlete Naomi Osaka are among the special guests who share their passions, talents, and cultures with their Sesame Street pals.
The “Neighbor Day” celebration concludes with a new original song led by Ji-Young and performed by the entire cast, also titled “See Us Coming Together.”
