3 Reasons Dylan McAvoy May Return to ‘The Young and the Restless’
Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) may be returning to The Young and the Restless.
Fans are curious if Burton will return to Genoa City now that he has reportedly left General Hospital.
It’s been four years since his departure, and the show has left the possibility of a return open.
Here are three reasons why Dylan’s comeback could be imminent.
During Dylan’s four-year run on The Young and the Restless, his love life was frequently a central plotline.
His relationship with Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins) drew him to Genoa City, of course.
The couple reconciled, but their relationship ended in divorce.
Later, Dylan marries Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), whom he met when he first arrived in town.
Sharon becomes pregnant, but the pregnancy ends in miscarriage, and she doesn’t tell Dylan.
Sandra Allen (Elizabeth Bogush) deceives Sharon into thinking she is still pregnant during her stay in Fairview.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sage Warner (Kelly Sullivan) have a son named Sully, whom Sharon “gives birth” to.

When the truth about the baby switch is revealed, the couple is forced to return Sully (Alex Wilson), aka Christian Newman, to Nick.
Dylan stays with Sharon despite the heartache and betrayal.
They divorce, however, after Dylan’s undercover mission is compromised and he is placed in witness protection.
Sharon has moved on since Dylan’s departure and is now married to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
Fans, on the other hand, believe Sharon and Rey have little chemistry and that she needs a better love interest.
Fans loved Dylan and Sharon, and a reunion would be wonderful.
Sharon’s conflicted feelings about both men, as well as Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) opposition to her son’s relationship, would add drama to the show.
Dylan is a former Army soldier who has recently started working for the Genoa City Police Department.
Dylan took his job seriously because he was the son of Detective Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).
Prior to Dylan’s disappearance, his father and son were working on a major case.
He can now return to his regular job now that Dylan has returned.
There is, however, one snag.
Rey has taken over as the new head detective at the police station, but fans have doubts about his abilities.
The Young and the Restless is in desperate need of a…
