Tour Matt Damon’s $17.9 million Pacific Palisades mansion, which was inspired by Zen.

Take a tour of Matt Damon’s (dollar)17.9 million Pacific Palisades mansion.

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso have decided to relocate to New York City, leaving their beautiful Pacific Palisades home behind.

According to, the Zen-inspired estate was reduced in price by (dollar)3 million after the initial (dollar)21 million asking price failed to attract buyers.

Despite not disclosing the final sale price, the home sold in a matter of weeks after the price was reduced to (dollar)17.9 million.

Damon and Barroso purchased the home in 2012 for (dollar)15 million and did not order any major renovations.

The photos below, taken from, show the home in all of its glory.

The home’s listing agent, Eric Haskell of The Agency, described it as “like a tropical retreat” to the Wall Street Journal last week.

“You don’t feel like you’re in Southern California anymore,” Haskell said. Damon and Barroso, on the other hand, have enjoyed their time in New York City, “even with everything going on with COVID.”

Damon purchased a (dollar)16 million penthouse in Brooklyn Heights in 2017.

Damon, 50, and Barroso, 50, have three children: Isabella, 14, Gia, 12, and Stella, ten.

Damon is also the stepfather of Alexia, Barroso’s 22-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

After tabloid rumors about their marital problems, they decided to sell.

“Since they’ve been isolating together, she’s noticed a shift in their relationship.”

Matt used to be so romantic and hands-on before the lockdown, but not anymore.

“Luciana is irritated by him,” a source told InTouch Weekly.

Damon and Barroso have remained silent on the issue.

In the meantime, here’s a look at the California home they’ll be leaving behind.

The house has seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms and is over 13,500 square feet.

The house, on the other hand, is designed for a family who enjoys spending time outside.

A central atrium with a 35-foot-high ceiling and clerestory windows is the property’s focal point.

In the California-style formal rooms, there are also movable glass walls that open seamlessly.

The mahogany cabinets in the chef’s kitchen are complemented by bluestone countertops.

With a private terrace, two dressing rooms, a massage room, and other amenities, the master suite could be considered a home in and of itself.
