Were Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Edited Out of the New Trailer for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’?

The premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s second trailer was a huge deal for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

They held a screening for fans in Los Angeles, and it was all over social media.

Former Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were expected to appear in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer due to the hype.

However, this was not the case.

The actors may have been edited out of the video, according to fans.

Despite the fact that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield didn’t appear in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, many villains from their Spider-Man films did.

In the teaser, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, and Lizard all showed up at the party.

Doctor Octopus, played by Alfred Molina, appeared alongside Maguire in Spider-Man 2.

Willem Dafoe’s portrayal of the Green Goblin appeared throughout Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy.

The main villain in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Andrew Garfield was Electro, played by Jamie Foxx.

Sandman, who was originally played by Thomas Haden Church, co-starred with Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3.

Finally, Lizard, who was originally played by Rhys Ifans, co-starred with Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man.

Many fans believe that these five characters will form the Sinister Six with the help of another unknown villain.

The villains are also fighting Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the trailer.

However, some eagle-eyed viewers noticed a detail in the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser that could indicate a character was cut.

Fans noticed a difference between the Sony Pictures trailer and the Brazilian trailer, according to Total Film.

An invisible force punches Lizard in the Brazilian version when Peter fights Lizard, Electro, and Sandman.

However, Lizard does not recoil at the air in the American trailer released by Sony Pictures.

Fans assumed that Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield were edited out of that scene in this alternate version of the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.

Holland’s Peter, along with Maguire’s and Garfield’s Peter, is thought to be fighting Lizard, Electro, and Sandman.

It’d be a three-on-three battle.

Naturally, there is no way to verify this theory.

However, this scene has undoubtedly been edited.

It wouldn’t be the first time Marvel tampered with a trailer to confuse fans.
