What You Should Know About Legendary Comedian Mort Sahl’s Death

Mort Sahl, a legendary comedian and political satirist, died on Tuesday, Oct.

At 94 years old, he is still 26 years old.

Throughout the eras of McCarthyism and the Cold War, Sahl was one of the most obnoxious voices of the twentieth century, with biting political comedy.

His illustrious career is now being remembered by fans.

Sahl died at his home in Mill Valley, California, according to a friend who confirmed his death to The New York Times last month.

Sahl’s career dates back to the 1950s, when he broke the social taboo against discussing politics in comedy clubs, causing audiences to laugh.

He directed his ferocious wit at politicians on both sides of the political aisle, oblivious to the risk of retaliation.

In August of 1960, Sahl became the first comedian to be featured on the cover of Time Magazine.

He was dubbed “Will Rogers with fangs” at the time.

Although Sahl’s father was an American citizen who worked as an FBI clerk and wrote unpublished plays, he was born in Montreal, Canada.

Sahl’s family moved to Los Angeles, California when he was young, and after a brief stint in the US Army, he attended the University of Southern California.

Sahl dabbled in stand-up comedy early on, landing his first major gig at Berkeley’s legendary “hungry i” club in 1953.

He immediately set himself apart from other comics by taking on material straight from the news, regardless of whether or not it would alienate listeners or people of a certain political persuasion.

“For a while, every time the Russians threw an American in jail, the Un-American Activities Committee would retaliate by throwing an American in jail as well,” he said in one of his most famous — and controversial — jokes.

Sahl was a popular guest on talk shows and in stand-up comedy circuits over the years, earning an estimated (dollar)1 million per year.

Until his death, he continued to spout off-the-cuff political commentary.

“After five years of Barack Obama, I’m severely wounded, but I can’t find a doctor,” he wrote to Trump on Twitter.

Over the years, Sahl’s work has been featured in books, memoirs, and television shows.
