While filming ‘Red Notice,’ Ryan Reynolds kept forcing Dwayne Johnson to break character: ‘I was bent over laughing so hard at him.’

Red Notice is one of Netflix’s most popular new releases.

Fans have praised the film, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot, and many have praised the cast’s interactions.

The cast’s good times weren’t just for the cameras, as it turned out.

Jimmy Fallon spoke with both Reynolds and Johnson in a series of interviews conducted in May 2020, while the film was still in production, and got both stars to admit that they broke character frequently due to their inability to control their laughter.

Early November saw the release of Red Notice on Netflix.

The film, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ritu Arya, follows an FBI agent (Johnson) who teams up with an infamous art thief (Reynolds) to catch a notorious criminal.

The criminal, played by Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman, manages to stay one step ahead of her pursuers at nearly every turn, resulting in plenty of dramatic action and even more laughs at Reynolds and Johnson’s expense.

Red Notice has piqued the interest of fans for quite some time, owing to the star-studded cast.

Johnson’s production team assisted in the launch of the film, which was billed as the biggest Netflix film to ever debut on the streaming platform for months before its release.

The actors had just as much fun making the film as the audience did watching Reynolds, Johnson, and Gadot interact onscreen.

Reynolds discussed filming the film with Fallon in a May 2020 interview, revealing that production was temporarily halted due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“If we hadn’t spent ninety percent of our time dicking around, we probably would have made it (finished filming before being shut down),” Reynolds joked.

“Since I’ve known Dwayne for about 15 years, we’ve spent a lot of time attempting to make each other laugh.”

Reynolds revealed that all he has to do to make Johnson “break” is mock him while speaking his own lines…
