Is your town one of the 290 that has seen an increase in Covid cases?

CORONAVIRUS cases are on the rise in 290 locations across the UK, and this interactive map can show you if your neighborhood is one of them.

Infections have dropped by more than a fifth in less than a month, as the government continues to encourage eligible Brits to get their booster shots.

In the seven days leading up to November 13, cases fell in 87 areas, and the map above depicts the most recent infection rates for each local authority area in the UK.

Torridge in Devon continues to have the highest rate in the UK, with 583 new cases reported in the seven days leading up to November 13, equating to 848.4 cases per 100,000 people.

In the seven days leading up to November 6, this was up from 395.8.

Heather Brazier, director of operations at the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT), has urged residents to get their vaccinations so that NHS services are not overburdened this winter.

“Like many other health and social care organizations, our staffing is impacted by Covid-related illness and isolation, and we are working hard to address this on an ongoing basis,” she said.

People should also avoid dialing 999 unless they require immediate assistance, according to Ms Brazier.

With 1,069 new cases, Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coast and Glens has the country’s second highest rate, up from 460.9 to 737.5.

Northern Ireland’s Department of Health has warned that restrictions could be imposed before Christmas to combat rising infection rates.

With 1,087 new cases, Mid Sussex has the third highest rate, rising from 479.8 to 714.5.

In Wales, Gwynedd has the highest rate (684.7), while in Scotland, Clackmannanshire has the highest rate (625.9).

Torridge and Causeway Coast and Glens are among the top five areas in the UK where infections have increased the most in the last five days.

Infections in Mid Ulster have also increased, jumping from 425.0 to 702.9.

Infections have increased dramatically in Charnwood, Leicester, from 358.8 to 635.8.

Gwynedd, in Wales, has seen an increase as well, rising from 442.6 to 684.7.

Another 38,263 people were diagnosed with Covid in the last 24 hours, with 201 more dying, it was revealed yesterday.

On October 22, 49,139 people were newly diagnosed with coronavirus, with 179 people dying as a result.

The number of deaths in the United Kingdom is steadily increasing.

And, according to one expert, the UK may follow Germany and Austria in enacting vaccination bans for the unvaccinated.

Governments across Europe are scrambling to contain rising infection rates by imposing restrictions on those who have not been vaccinated.

A total of two million Austrians have been barred from leaving the country because they lack the necessary vaccinations…
