The adult film star penned a concerned article urging for the system to change or “porn stars’ greatest fears will come through.”

Cherie DeVille has written about the “inadequate and dangerous” Covid-19 testing system used in the porn industry.

Cherie DeVille is urging for a reform as the current testing and trace system is ‘inadequate and dangerous’ and ‘Porn insiders can’t monitor tens of thousands of people’ as it once did

Cherie believes the industry could be destroyed

The porn star is urging for a new testing system

Members of the team must take this test 24-hours before a shoot, reports The Daily Beast.

A porn star has voiced her fears over a huge coronavirus outbreak which could destroy the industry.

Cherie says through the reliable system, there have been no HIV transmissions since 2013.

She compared the testing system to the Performer Availability Screening Service (PASS) which is used to test for STI’s.

However, the most popular PASS-participating clinic, Talent Testing Service, pulled out of the PASS testing system, which meant performers have had to get tested elsewhere.

Since the coronavirus outbreak, as porn stars resumed their work in the summer, PASS added Covid-19 testing to the test panel, she says.

Cherie recalled on July 31 the Free Speech Coalition announced that several crew members contracted coronavirus on set.

Some performers would present a certificate of their test results, whereas it has been feared other directors did not check as vigilantly as needed.

“We do not know the identities of the performers or crew involved, but the lack of disclosure around such incidents is concerning.”

“Because the testing was done outside of PASS, there has not been adequate accounting of the incidents or ease of tracing the results,” the Free Speech Coalition’s representative said at the time.

With Talent Testing Service pulling out of PASS, doctors may not be able to trace illness within the porn community, fears Cherie.

She said: “Porn insiders can’t monitor tens of thousands of people the way they once monitored a hundred blondes in the valley. We need a system to protect workers – and yes, sex workers are workers.

“Porn is creating an unsafe work environment for its workers. I respect the performers choosing to work because I believe in workers’ autonomy, so I have hesitated to speak about this issue. People can take risks. People are allowed to gamble. I am not advocating for shutting down porn, but I want to educate workers on the dangers of relying on a test outside of PASS.”
