Strictly Come Dancing has been thrown into chaos after a crew member has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.
Five staff who were in close contact with him immediately left the set and headed home, and were told to self-isolate and ordered to take tests – which proved negative.
The publication revealed that the lighting expert had worked on the dance competition’s set for several days prior to taking the test.
And bosses are nervously awaiting test results of a third test on the worker after a second medical check proved negative.
The set was deep cleaned using powerful electrostatic sprayers.
“They were hours away from starting filming for the pre-recorded professional group dances when they got a call to say that one of the crew members had tested positive when turning up for another job.”
Speaking to The Sun, an insider said: “This crew member would have been in touch with dozens of other workers on set.
“Everything juddered to a halt while worried bosses worked out what to do.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, a source at Strictly Come Dancing said: “The guy was on our production and is no longer, he went onto another production and tested positive.
They added: “The reality is, that, that result is negative. So the guy doesn’t have it.”
“And their test which is obviously a test that they’ve got which isn’t as accurate as the NHS test, which they’ve said is inconclusive.”
“Everyone else who has come into close contact with him have had negative tests from the NHS as well.”
“That guy probably doesn’t have it.
