JAKARTA, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) — A total of 1,163 international travellers including Indonesians who arrived in the country from December 2020 to February 17, 2021, were confirmed positive for COVID-19, according to the Health Ministry on Thursday.
An official of the ministry’s Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control, Benget Saragih, said that 822 of the visitors were found positive for COVID-19 based on the results of the polymerase chain reaction tests upon arrival in Indonesia, and 341 others were verified positive during the mandatory five-day quarantine.
Of the 1,163, mostly (121 people) are foreigners coming from India, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian nationals infected with COVID-19 among the international arrivals are mostly from Saudi Arabia. Enditem
