ISLAMABAD, March 29 (Xinhua) — Six people including five school boys were killed in a road accident in Khairpur district of Pakistan’s south Sindh province on Monday, officials and local reports said.
The accident happened when an over-speeding van ran over two motorbikes on which the boys were on their way to school, killing five including four students right at the spot while another succumbed to injuries at hospital, local media reported.
Police arrested the van driver over his negligence and shifted him to a nearby police station, the media reports added.
The killed boys were between nine to fifteen years of age and their bodies have been handed over to their relatives, according to the reports.
The Chief Minister House of Sindh said in a tweet that the families of the killed students are being contacted and the local top officials will visit the families for help and condolence.
The chief minister also sought a report from the relevant authorities about the cause of frequent road accidents on the highway where Monday’s crash happened. Enditem
