DHAKA, March 27 (Xinhua) — India and Bangladesh on Saturday signed five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering a number of areas of bilateral cooperation.
The MoUs were signed to boost cooperation in disaster management, trade, IT and sports, among other fields, Ihsanul Karim, Bangladeshi premier’s press secretary, told journalists.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi witnessed the signing of the MoUs after a bilateral meeting at her office in Dhaka Saturday.
Modi arrived here on Friday morning on a two-day official visit to join the twin celebrations of Bangladeshi Founding Father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence in 1971. Enditem
