Flamengo’s title hopes damaged by 1-1 draw at Bragantino

RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) — Veteran forward Ytalo Santos struck a second-half equalizer as Bragantino held defending champions Flamengo to a 1-1 draw in their Brazilian Serie A clash on Sunday.

Former Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa put Flamengo ahead from the penalty spot after Ricardo Ryller brought down Gustavo Henrique on the half-hour mark.

Santos drew the hosts level by sweeping home a first-time effort after Helinho Castro’s cross from the left side of the penalty area.

Flamengo, who have three games left in the season, are now one point behind leaders Internacional, who have a game in hand.

Bragantino are ninth, 18 points off the pace, but still with a chance of qualifying for the next edition of the Copa Libertadores. Enditem
