Former CBA player Pargo joins Israeli club Maccabi Rishon Lezion


JERUSALEM, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) — Israeli basketball Super League club Maccabi Rishon Lezion has signed Jeremy Pargo, the club announced Monday.

The 34-year-old point guard played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA before moving to the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

In his first season in China, at the Zhejiang Lions in 2013, Pargo topped the CBA’s assists chart, with a total of 316 assists, or 8.5 assists per game.

Pargo played 95 games in the CBA, averaging 24.3 points and 7.4 assists in 36.6 minutes per game when he was in Zhejiang, Shenzhen and Nanjing.

In April 2018, Pargo returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv and won two consecutive Israeli championship titles with the Israeli club.

After graduating from Gonzaga University, the guard started his career in Israel with Hapoel Galil Elyon and reached the 2011 Euroleague final with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Rishon Lezion is currently 10th in the Israeli league. Enditem
