BUDAPEST, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) — Hungarians are confident about Chinese COVID-19 vaccines, after the country became the first EU member state to approve a Chinese vaccine.
In an interview with local media, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he trusts the Chinese vaccine more than others. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said that the Chinese vaccine will speed up vaccination efforts in the country, saving the lives of thousands of people and contributing to the lifting of restrictions sooner.
Hungary has signed a deal to buy enough doses of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine to vaccinate 2.5 million people.
