BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) — Zhejiang Lions power forward Hu Jinqiu was named the CBA Players of the Month for the second straight time, while Marshon Brooks from the Guangdong Southern Tigers came out the winner in the foreign category of the monthly award on Friday.
Hu averaged 23.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks as Zhejiang recorded 8-3 during the span.
Hu missed Thursday’s Zhejiang derby against the Golden Bulls due to a waist injury sustained in training, the first time in his six-season career. He had played 281 matches in a row, including 250 in the regular season and 31 in the playoffs.
Brooks registered 35.4 points, 6.1 boards, 5.1 assists and 2.3 steals every game during the past month, where defending champion Guangdong won 10 out of 11 outings.
Guangdong stays atop the 19-team table with a 41-5 record, while the Zhejiang Lions rank sixth with 25-20. Enditem
