JAKARTA, March 31 (Xinhua) — The Indonesian police said its anti-terror squad Densus 88 on Wednesday arrested another suspected terrorist linked to the cathedral bombing attack in South Sulawesi province’s city of Makassar.
“His initial is I. Now he is still under intensive investigation,” the South Sulawesi provincial police’s spokesman Senior Commissioner E. Zulpan said.
The police have arrested a total of eight suspected terrorists in Makassar linked to the suicide bombing at Makassar’s cathedral church on Sunday, which has killed two of the perpetrators and injured 20 others.
The anti-terror squad on Monday arrested four suspected men identified as US, SAS, MR, and AA. It also held three women identified as M, MM, and MAN on Tuesday.
The two perpetrators identified as L and SYF are a couple who just got married in August 2020.
The Indonesian National Police’s Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said they were allegedly linked to the Islamic State (IS) organization-affiliated Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) terrorist group.
The JAD was declared an illegal organization in Indonesia in 2018. Enditem
