JERUSALEM, March 31 (Xinhua) — The number of coronavirus patients in serious conditions in Israel decreased from 405 to 396 since Tuesday evening, the state’s Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.
This is the lowest number of patients of this kind in the country since Dec. 15, 2020, when it stood at 388. The figure peaked at 1,196 on Jan. 17 this year.
The number of hospitalized patients dropped below 600, from 611 to 593, the ministry added.
The sharp decrease in COVID-19 infections in Israel also reflects in the army, with the number of active patients among soldiers dropped to 43, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
This is the lowest figure in the Israeli army since June 17, 2020, when there were 29 coronavirus patients among soldiers.
A total of 288 soldiers are currently in home quarantine, lowest number since May 27, 2020, the IDF added.
The total number of infections in Israel reached 832,998 on Wednesday, while the death toll rose to 6,201. Enditem
