LA Galaxy move to secure Pavon on permanent deal

BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) — LA Galaxy have made an offer to secure Argentina international winger Cristian Pavon on a permanent contract, according to media reports in the South American country.

Pavon has scored 14 goals and provided nine assists in 35 matches since joining the Galaxy from Boca Juniors on an 18-month loan in August 2019.

According to Argentine news outlet TyC Sports, the Californian side has offered to pay 10 million US dollars for the attacker, around half of the Buenos Aires club’s original asking price.

Pavon’s contract with Boca is due to expire in June next year, meaning he can negotiate a free transfer with other clubs in November.

The 25-year-old has been capped 11 times for Argentina and was a member of the Albiceleste’s 2018 World Cup squad.

The US Major League Soccer season is scheduled to begin on April 17. Enditem
