Latvian health minister in self-isolation after contact with COVID-19-positive employee

RIGA, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) — Latvian Health Minister Daniels Pavluts is self-isolating after an employee at his office tested positive for COVID-19.

“What should I say, COVID is still around. Today, a colleague at my office was reported to be COVID+,” Pavluts tweeted on Wednesday, saying he now has to go self-isolating and take a COVID-19 test.

The health minister received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine a week ago. He indicated that he was feeling fine and still working.

Latvia reported 713 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, and infections nationwide have been gradually dropping over the past week. Enditem
