Malaysia reports 1,275 new COVID-19 cases, 1 more death


KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Xinhua) — Malaysia reported 1,275 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, bringing the national total to 339,443, the Health Ministry said.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that 32 of the new cases are imported with 1,243 being local transmissions.

One more death has been reported, bringing the death toll to 1,249.

Another 1,509 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 323,925, or 95.4 percent of all cases.

Of the remaining 14,269 active cases, 161 are being held in intensive care and 70 of those are in need of assisted breathing. Enditem
