WELLINGTON, March 27 (Xinhua) — New Zealand reported one new case of COVID-19, said the Ministry of Health in a statement on Saturday.
The new case was a recent overseas returnee who tested positive for COVID-19 after arrival in day-three routine test in managed isolation, said the ministry.
There was also one historical case of COVID-19 reported by the ministry.
“It’s important to reiterate that historical cases are not considered to be infectious,” said the ministry in the statement.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases of COVID-19 detected at the New Zealand border is four, it is said.
The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand on Saturday is 74, and the total number of confirmed cases reached 2,125, according to the ministry.
The total number of tests processed by New Zealand laboratories to date is 1,880,007.
New Zealand is currently at COVID-19 Alert Level One with no restriction on gatherings. Enditem
