POKEMON fans will be treated to a brand new Nintendo presentation this week, as the company talks more about Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansions.
The Pokemon Presents stream has gone live for Pokemon fans.
It kicked off with a look at Pokemon Smile, which is a new app designed to make brushing your teeth that little bit more fun. The app is out now on iOS and Android.
Next up is Pokemon Cafe Mix, which is a new puzzle game for Nintendo Switch, smartphones and tablets. The game is described as free-to-start, and will be available soon.
Pokemon Snap will also make a return as part of a brand new Nintendo Switch game launching later this year.
Elsewhere, Mega Evolutions were announced for Pokemon Go, and a Max Raid battle was announced for Pokemon Sword and Shield.
A separate Pokemon Direct has been announced for next week, as Nintendo prepares to make another big announcement.
Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are about to hold a special live stream event, it has been revealed.
The Nintendo Direct-style Pokemon Presents stream will be available to watch on June 2 at 2pm UK time. You can watch it live and in full by hitting play on the YouTube embed below.
The news was announced by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company on Twitter.
“We have Pokémon news,” the tweet reads. “You want Pokémon news.
“Sounds to us like you should tune in tomorrow at 6 a.m. PDT for Pokemon Presents! What do you think, Trainers?”
According to a separate tweet on the Japanese Pokemon account, the 11 minute Pokemon Presents stream will focus on the Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass.
“We will deliver “Pokemon Presents” as a premiere on the official YouTube channel of Pokemon from Wednesday, June 17th!” reads a translated tweet.
“Information on “Pokemon Sword Shield Expansion Pass” will be broadcast for about 11 minutes, so please look forward to it!”
It’s worth pointing out that the presentation takes place on the Isle of Armor release date, so you can expect to find out more about the DLC.
Likewise, Nintendo is also expected to announce a release date for the Crown Tundra expansion.
The second Sword and Shield DLC currently has an autumn release window, so expect Nintendo to narrow it down even further.
Of course, it’s possible Nintendo and The Pokemon Company will have one or two additional surprises for fans of the franchise.
Fans have speculated that remakes of beloved Pokemon classics could be announced during the stream.
It’s also possible we’ll find out more about Pokemon Sleep, and perhaps get an update on the Detective Pikachu Switch game.
The Isle of Armor DLC moves the action to the titular island, which is made up of beaches, bogs, forests, caves and dunes.
“Take up an apprenticeship under the former Galar Champion, Mustard, who’s also the mentor of Champion Leon!” Nintendo explains.
“Meet new rivals, hone your skills and master new fighting styles with the Legendary Pokemon: Kubfu.
“You’ll also be able to Gigantamax the final Evolution of the partner Pokemon you chose to start your journey with. Look forward to discovering Rillaboom, Cinderace or Inteleon in their new form, and a new G-Max Move to boot!”
