BUENOS AIRES, April 7 (Xinhua) — Rosario Central have expressed hope that their former player and current Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) winger Angel Di Maria will finish his career with the Argentine club.
Di Maria’s contract with the PSG is due to expire in June next year and Rosario Central could make a bid to sign the 33-year-old as a free agent, according to Rosario Central vice president Ricardo Carloni.
“We are excited that at some point Angel could return,” Carloni told Argentina’s Radio Colonia on Wednesday.
“He still has a contract with the PSG. We hope that at some point he will make the decision to return to the club he loves. He knows that the doors are always open for him.”
Di Maria made his professional debut for Rosario Central in 2005 aged 17. He joined Benfica in 2007 and also had spells with Real Madrid and Manchester United before signing with the PSG in 2015.
Capped 104 times for Argentina’s national team, Di Maria was a part of the Albiceleste’s 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cup squads. Enditem
