Vietnam reports no new COVID-19 cases, 2,594 in total


HANOI, March 30 (Xinhua) — Vietnam recorded no new cases of COVID-19 infection on Tuesday, leaving the total confirmed cases in the country at 2,594, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.

A total of more than 46,400 people in 19 localities had been vaccinated against the COVID-19 by the end of Monday, three weeks after the country launched its mass inoculation campaign prioritizing frontliners.

As many as 2,359 patients have been given the all-clear, up 51 from Monday, the ministry said, adding that nearly 46,500 people are being quarantined and monitored.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, Vietnam had recorded 1,603 domestically transmitted infections of COVID-19, including 910 logged since the latest outbreak that began on Jan. 28, according to official data. Enditem
