Three people were killed and three others were injured after a shooting at a bus stop in the central Russian Nizhny Novgorod Region on Monday, the TASS news agency reported.
“The citizen was shooting in a chaotic manner,” TASS quoted a source from the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region as saying.
The shooter has not yet been identified or detained. Police officers are carrying out a range of operational search measures to find whoever is responsible, TASS reported.
In an earlier report, TASS said that four people were killed and several were injured in the incident.
“If necessary, the victims will be evacuated to regional medical centers. We are ready to use air ambulances at any time,” Governor of the region Gleb Nikitin was quoted by RIA Novosti news agency as saying.
The situation remains critical, as the police have warned local residents to exercise caution as the offender is armed, TASS reported, citing a source from the site.
