A 6-year-old boy with cystic fibrosis becomes a golf sensation just a year after taking up the sport.
Fraizer’s love for golf was sparked by his father, who built a putting green in his backyard for his son to practice on.
While living with cystic fibrosis, a six-year-old boy who only took up golf last summer has excelled in the sport and won a series of competitions.
Fraizer Harris, of Machen, South Wales, began playing golf just over a year ago during lockdown to help him cope with a serious health condition that affects his lungs. It was a safer way to exercise with his condition.
Fraizer has now won 11 tournaments and qualified for the Junior World Championships in the United States next year, despite receiving physiotherapy and taking around 50 pills per day.
“I have cystic fibrosis, so we were all really scared what the virus might do to me, so we didn’t leave the house for 12 weeks,” Fraizier told Wales Online.
“That’s when I discovered golf, which has been fantastic because it keeps me outside, which I enjoy, and is good for my lungs.”
“It’s also been fantastic because I’ve had to overcome doing my physiotherapy mask before getting out of the car at the course and taking 50 tablets a day.”
Fraizer’s love of golf was sparked by his father, Jermaine, who built a putting green in his backyard for his son to practice on.
Fraizer’s family is now trying to raise funds so that he can travel to the United States to compete in the tournament.
And the talented youngster is determined to win the tournament.
He stated that the aspect of the competition that he is most looking forward to is “winning it.”
