A cool start to the week sets the stage for temperature swings of up to 30 degrees throughout central Pennsylvania.

Fall in Pennsylvania continues to bring zigzagging temperatures to the state’s central region, with up to 30-degree swings expected this week.

The National Weather Service predicts highs in the upper 40s and lows near freezing Sunday night through Tuesday.

The cold will be exacerbated slightly by light winds.

Tuesday night’s low temperature will begin to rise, preparing the region for a return to the 60s on Wednesday.

The low for Wednesday night is expected to be in the low 40s, with temperatures rising to the mid-60s on Thursday.

On Thursday, there’s a chance of rain showers, but current forecasts show the weather clearing up before temperatures drop to near freezing Thursday night.
