A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle, according to the Dauphin County District Attorney.

Authorities told INFOSURHOY that one person was killed in a pedestrian accident Monday night.

A pedestrian died, according to District Attorney Fran Chardo, but she did not have any additional information right away.

Around 5:20 p.m., the accident was reported.

Police said it happened on Monday in Lower Swatara Township, near the West Harrisburg Pike and Rosedale Avenue.

The Harrisburg Pike was closed at Meade Avenue, which is a busy intersection with CVS and Sheetz stores.

Only a medical clinic and a parking lot were within walking distance of the accident, with industrial space related to Harrisburg International Airport across the street.

There was also little lighting and no sidewalks in the vicinity.

On one side of the road, there is a shoulder.

The Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office and Lower Swatara police are investigating.
