A man from Pennsylvania is accused of setting up a sex date with a cop who pretended to be a 14-year-old girl.
According to court documents, a 36-year-old Scranton man was arrested in a grocery store parking lot this week where he allegedly went to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex.
According to the documents, Mac Arthur Lee, 36, of the 500 block of River Street in Scranton, thought he was chatting with a 14-year-old girl on Facebook from August to November of this year, but he was actually chatting with an undercover Bethlehem police officer.
According to court records, Lee set up a meeting with the girl behind Valley Farm Markets on Stefko Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, where he was apprehended by city police.
According to court records, he was charged with unlawful contact with a minor – sexual offenses and felony criminal use of a communications facility, and he was sent to Northampton County Prison on a bail of (dollar)150,000.
According to court records, Lee made contact with the officer posing as a teen via Facebook Messenger and messaged her several times over several weeks when she did not respond.
When the officer finally responded on October 1st,
She inquired about Lee’s age at the age of twenty.
According to the documents, he told her he was 36 and the officer told her she was 14 several times.
According to records, Lee continued to message the undercover officer, sent sexually explicit messages, and then set up a meeting with the girl on Thursday.
According to court documents, Lee was arrested after he arrived and texted the undercover officer that he was there.
Lee does not have an attorney listed.
