LOCK HAVEN – A Clinton County woman accused of killing her 9-year-old nephew and abandoning him in a bathtub has died of a medical issue.

At 12:48 p.m., Jamie Lynn Jackson, 36, was pronounced dead.

District Attorney David Strouse said the hearing will take place at UPMC Lock Haven on Sunday.

He said she had a medical emergency earlier in the day and was rushed to the Clinton County Correctional Facility by ambulance.

Coroner Zach Hanna said the cause and manner of death are pending the results of an autopsy.

According to Strouse and Hanna, there are no signs of foul play.

In the death of Anson Stover, Jackson was scheduled to stand trial next spring on homicide and other charges.

If found guilty, she could face the death penalty.

At Jackson’s preliminary hearing, it was revealed that Stover, whose body was discovered in November, had confessed to Jackson.

From head to toe, 30 had been injured.

According to city police Detective Richard Simpson, a preliminary autopsy report identified two causes of death: blunt force head injuries and multiple blunt force injuries in general.

Among the injuries mentioned by the detective were brain damage, cigarette burns, black eyes, a cut on his penis, and purple-colored fingers.

He claimed Stover only weighed 54 pounds.

Jackson claimed in interviews that she discovered her nephew in November.

Simpson said she found him wrapped in tape in his room and cut it off before bathing and dressing him.

According to him, the autopsy found no tape or tape residue.

When she placed Stover in the tub, he did not respond, but Jackson claimed she suspected he was faking because he had done so before, according to Simpson.

Officer Andrew Fisher went to Jackson’s apartment in the 600 block of East Bald Eagle Street after receiving a phone call from her father, who was traveling to Lock Haven from his home in New York, and discovered the body.

According to the officer, Hugh Jackson’s daughter was hysterical, saying she didn’t know what to do and threatening to kill herself if the cops arrived.
